Overview
The Earthquake Early Warning project will build a last-mile alert prototype to deliver early warning of impending hazardous ground shaking to key public safety officials enrolled in a beta test.
Updates
Phase 1:
- The City of Los Angeles has been working on a similar pilot. The team will reach out to LA for lessons learned. OEM will also communicate with key regional partners to engage in this project.
Phase 2:
- The team will work with key stakeholders for pilot opportunities, OEM to communicate this list of end-customers.
Phase 3:
- Solidifying partnerships with Amazon, Twitter and Zillow to continue improving communication tools.
Updates
- Office of Emergency Management has invited the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network to join this effort. That group is responsible for ShakeAlert in this region.
- Bi-weekly meetings are happening with City of Seattle team with IAC members providing mentoring and advice opportunities.
- Project team is requesting engineers and coders from IAC members for additional support.
