Seattle (February 4, 2019) – Seattle City Light: Crews have been responding to outages all over the utility’s service area. As of 4:30 PM on Feb. 4, approximately 5,400 customers are still without power and it may take up to 12 hours to restore service. If you are uncertain about your ability to stay safe and warm during an outage, please consider finding other shelter somewhere warm nearby. Seattle Department of Transportation: Crews have been working since 12:00 pm Sunday to prepare roads. Follow the SDOT blog as they work around the clock to clear snow from major routes and for tips on transportation safety during winter weather.

2:15 p.m.– The Southwest Customer Service Center closed at 2:00 p.m. and plans to reopen at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

12:00 p.m. – Seattle Municipal Courts: will limit operations at noon. All afternoon hearings, except for in-custody hearings, will be rescheduled to a future court date. In-custody hearings will be held as scheduled. Individuals scheduled to report for probation appointments are not required to report today. No bench warrants or probation violations will be issued. 8:oo a.m. – The City of Seattle government is open today but some departments have been impacted by the weather. Continue to check www.seattle.gov for updates for any delays, closures, or impacts to City services.

Customer Service Bureau and Service Centers: The Customer Service Bureau at Seattle City Hall will open this morning at 8:00 am. All customer service centers, except for Central, will open.
Human Services Department: The City of Seattle opened a severe weather shelter Sunday through Tuesday night at the Seattle Center. Seattle Center Armory is open today from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm to serve as a warming shelter.
Seattle Public Libraries: There could be delays to the opening of the Central Library, so please check updates online or call 206-386-4636. Other library branches that normally open at 10 a.m. will open at noon and branches that normally open at 1 p.m. will open at 1 p.m. Check for updates before heading to any Library location. Seattle Public Utilities: There will be no residential or commercial garbage, recycling or food/yard waste pickup in Seattle today, February 4th. Weather and road conditions permitting, garbage, recycling, and food/yard waste service will resume Tuesday, on a revised schedule — with customers scheduled for pickup today (Monday) collected tomorrow. All remaining residential services will be delayed one day this week. However, transfer stations will open at 10:00 am. You can follow any updates here.
Seattle Department of Transportation: Seattle Department of Transportation crews have been working since 12:00 pm yesterday to prepare roads. All routes continued to be treated and plows have begun to push snow.
Seattle Municipal Courts: Open.
Seattle Preschool Program: Preschools at Seattle Public School sites are cancelled. For non-SPS preschool sites, follow your preschools inclement weather policy.
Seattle Center: Seattle Center Armory is open today from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm to serve as a warming shelter. Seattle Center Monorail is currently out of service.
Seattle City Light: Call center is open and crews are available in the event of outages.
Seattle Parks: There may be delays or closures to community centers. All programs including swim lesson and child programs are cancelled. In addition, all community center rentals are cancelled. You can follow community center updates here.
